THREE TIER STRUCTURE
The MRL has refined its structure in adding a level of competition between the existing Premier Division and the many First Divisions in each age group.  For the 2013 Fall Season and the 2014 Spring Season, the MRL will operate a three-tier structure of Premier I Divisions, Premier II Divisions, and First Divisions.  This is not an expansion but a realignment of teams below the existing Premier Divisions (from now on referred to as Premier I Divisions) in order to enhance competitive matches. Click below to see the method by which teams will be split into the respective three tiers (Premier I Division, Premier II Division, and First Divisions) for the coming year.

UNDER 13 and UNDER 14 COMPETITION FOR 2013-14
The MRL has instituted a new system in determining Premier I Division teams at its entry age groups.  For the 2013 Fall Season, both the Under 13 and Under 14 age groups will feature a 32-team Premier I Division Qualification Competition (this replaces the process where all teams that entered the Fall competition would compete for Premier Division slots). The 2013 Fall Season will now feature a 32-team Premier I Division Qualification competition in both the U-13 and U-14 age groups. The top 16 teams from this competition will qualify for 2014 Spring Season Premier I Division play.  Any teams not entered in the Fall Season Premier I Division Qualification competition will compete in a First Division competition with an opportunity be promoted into the Premier II tier for the 2014 Spring Season.
